Amal Alamuddin is 'perfect' for George Clooney, says best friend Rande Gerber

25 OCTOBER 2014

Rande Gerber has praised his best friend George Clooney's new wife, Amal.

The businessman attended the couple's four-day wedding celebrations in Venice last month, covered by HELLO! magazine, along with his supermodel wife Cindy Crawford.

"I've been friends with George probably half my life," Rande told People. "And it's just great that he found someone."

"She's really perfect for him," he said. "She's smart and she's beautiful, engaging.
She is, again... smart, but she doesn't make you feel stupid. She's a
great girl, and together I think they can do some incredible things."

George and Rande's friendship goes back years and is so strong that the
pair decided to co-found a tequila business together with another close
pal Mike Meldman.

Casamigos Tequila was set up after the duo decided they wanted to share
their favourite tipple, which "they serve at their homes in Mexico,"
with fellow aficionados. George and Rande have built holiday homes in
compounds next to each other in the Latin country.

About a week before George and Amal's wedding, Rande was seen loading up his private jet with more than 50 cases of the tipple to bring to Venice.

It is believed that newlyweds George and Amal will celebrate their recent union with another party in Buckinghamshire on Saturday night.

According to reports, the American heart-throb, 53, and his lawyer love, 36, have chosen Danesfield House – a former stately home turned hotel and spa situated in Marlow-on-Thames, for the party.

Amal's parents Baria and Ramzi Alamuddin have
reportedly booked out the five-star establishment for the weekend. A
huge marquee has been erected in the grounds of the estate and attention
to detail has been key in the preparations.

As new photos leaked online have shown, guests will be greeted with "his" and "her" cocktails upon arrival, with the "his" drink containing tequila. Pink orchids and white flowers will serve as decorations, while small trees will stand in the middle of each dining table.

The five-star hotel, which has an award-winning spa, Michelin-starred
restaurant and bedrooms starting from £224 a night, is located just a
few miles away from George and Amal's recently purchased marital home in neighbouring county Berkshire.
